Bhaja Govindam 19 : Otherness - by L Ramaswamy Any two objects are distinguished through comparison. Comparison only occurs when differences between objects are observed. Therefore, there is an endless cycle of differentiation and comparison in duality. Vedanta clearly states the unity of the Self. Duality or otherness appears in your mind due to ignorance. You deepen the bondage of ignorance by involving your mind with others as enemies, friends, relatives or sons. Only by recognizing the Self in everything can you transcend this diversity. This is the core message of verse 25 of Bhaja Govindam. The fall of a human being and the effects of ignorance are emphasized in the next verse. #bhajagovindam #bhaja #govindam #attachment #bond #love #like #dislike #indifference #expression #emotions #imaginary #void #ladder #fall #knowledge #antidote #duality #swamiparthasarathy #adishankara #adishankaracharya #vedanta #english #delusion #mohamudgara #advaita #vedanta #acquisition #enjoyment #kanchana #kamini #govinda #self #prakaranagrantha Timeline: 0:00:00 Start 0:00:44 Invocation 0:01:22 Chanting: Verses 21 to 31 0:06:39 Verse 25 0:13:03 Degrees of Attachment 0:19:02 Universal Bond of Love 0:21:42 Q & A (1) Likes & Dislikes 0:28:21 Q & A (2) Love & Indifference 0:33:10 Q & A (3) Expression of Emotions 0:40:40 Verse 26 0:43:34 Imaginary Void 0:47:33 Ladder of Fall 0:57:36 Knowledge is the Antidote 0:59:43 Emotion Comes with Duality 1:03:04 Om Poornam Adah The speaker – Shri L Ramaswamy has studied at the Vedanta Academy, India, under the guidance of Swami Parthasarathy.
