A 1-credit clear of the arcade game The Act. This is an animated interactive-movie game in the vein of Dragon's Lair. In this game your only controller is a knob. There's one straightforward section where turning the knob left or right steers left or right. But in other sections the knob corresponds more to dialing in the right vibes. Turn it left or right to make Edgar be more shy or bold as he flirts with Sylvia. Mirroring other characters is an unusual game mechanic and works well with the expressive animations. Like so many analog controls, though, it takes some practice and trial and error to get used to. This playthrough is on the QEMU emulator. I have been lucky enough to play this on cabinet once, but didn't have the time or patience to get to a clear then. It was satisfying to see the happy ending and credits roll at last.
