THE STORY THE BOOK TELLS In the days of Jared, two hundred angels descended on the summit of Mount Hermon and bound themselves by a common oath. They were Watchers, sons of heaven, and what follows from that oath is a catalogue of consequences: the arts they taught, metal and weapons, paint for the eyes, the reading of the stars. The giants their children became. A flood sent to wash the earth clean. And one man carried up alive through the heavens to a house of crystal and fire. The Book of Enoch is not one book but a library grown under a single name. This episode reads all of it.
