It marked The Rolling Stones’ return to large-scale touring after several years following the Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle tours, and was their first tour without original bassist Bill Wyman, who had departed the band in 1993 and was replaced by Darryl Jones as a touring member. The tour spanned North America, Europe, Asia, and South America, featuring elaborate stage designs and large stadium productions, along with the introduction of a mid-show B-stage that brought the band closer to the audience. It became one of the highest-grossing tours of the 1990s and was widely praised for its energy and production, while the accompanying album Voodoo Lounge won the 1995 Grammy Award for Best Rock Album.
