These bao buns made with wheat flour are soft, fluffy steamed buns filled with a savory stuffing of sweetcorn, onion, and capsicum. These buns are steamed until light and airy, making them perfect as a snack or light meal. INGREDIENTS Bao Cover: 1/2 Cup Warm Water 2 Tsp Sugar 1 Tsp Active Dry Yeast 2 Cup Whole Wheat Flour 1 Tsp Salt 2 Tsp Oil Stuffing: 1 Cup Sweetcorn 1 Medium Onion 1 Medium Capsicum 1 Cube Cheese 1/2 Tsp Pizza Mix 1/4 Tsp Chilli Powder 2 Tbsp Tomato Sauce 2-3 Tbsp Mayonnaise Salt METHOD Mix warm water and sugar till dissolved. Add active dry yeast and mix. Cover and set aside for 10-15 minutes for activation. ⁠Add salt to the wheat flour and mix. Add activated yeast mixture and water to make soft dough. Add oil, stretch and knead the dough for 10-15 minutes. ⁠Apply some oil, cover and set aside for proofing till the dough doubles in size. ⁠Chop sweetcorn, onion and capsicum. Add all the seasonings, ketchup and mayonnaise. Grate cheese and mix well. ⁠After proofing, deflate the dough and divide into 8 equal sized portions. Use oil if dough sticks to hands. ⁠Flatten the dough and place some stuffing. Bring the sides together and seal the bun. Place on a steamer plate lined with parchm paper. Make all the bao buns. Rest for 10 minutes. ⁠Steam at medium-high flame for 15 minutes.
