The Bankes Brothers - Are You Tired? (Official Music Video)

Official Video for "Are You Tired?” by The Bankes Brothers "Are You Tired?" finds The Bankes Brothers exploring some of their darkest and most introspective territory to date. Built around a hypnotic, repetitive acoustic guitar riff that remained at the heart of the song from its earliest demo, the track gradually evolved into a richly layered and sonically adventurous recording, pushing the band beyond their usual production comfort zone. Lyrically, "Are You Tired?" takes the form of an internal dialogue with one's own self-sabotaging tendencies. Inspired by the universal experience of being your own worst enemy, the song confronts feelings of hopelessness, self-doubt, and the struggle of feeling trapped by patterns of behaviour that are difficult to escape. The opening line, "I am the wind and rain and thunder that you hear, I'm what keeps you up at night," immediately sets the emotional tone, personifying the voice of anxiety and inner turmoil that lingers in the background. Unlike much of The Bankes Brothers' catalogue, "Are You Tired?" offers little in the way of resolution or optimism. Instead, it sits honestly within the discomfort of those darker emotions. Yet beneath its brooding atmosphere lies a sense of connection and understanding. The band hopes listeners who have experienced similar struggles will find comfort in knowing they are not alone, while others may simply be drawn in by the track's infectious hook, expansive production, and undeniable musicality. Lyrics: I am the wind and rain and thunder that you hear I’m what keeps you up at night I’m on your shoulder, I’m ringing in your ears I’m the voice inside your head Are you tired? Do you think I’m gonna go away? Tell me, are you tired? No you’re never gonna get away Oh no no no no you won’t, honey bear No no no no no you won’t, honey bear No no no no no you won’t, honey bear No no no no no no I am the wind and rain and thunder that you hear I’m what keeps you up at night I just had to tell ya You’re a cold lonely thing My god, do I need to mention You’re of no use to me Good riddance I need you gone Or i’m never gonna get away Now you’re mine Are you tired? Tell me are you tired? Are you tired? #TheBankesBrothers #AreYouTired #MusicVideo
