Kongogumi 金剛組 "From Asuka Period to Future" - TEDxSeeds2009

Kongo-gumi was found 1,400 years ago. Since the era of Prince Shotoku-Taishi Asuka Period), their history has been continued on. They have passed on unchangeable things from person to person, and also developed their techniques by changing their ways. With the spirit of "Fueki-Ryuko" (keep fundamentals and challenge new things), they become the world's oldest technicians' group in this world. Japanese traditional architectures enrich further beauty, exposed by rain and wind for long years. Master carpenters create such buildings with their hands with facing to precious woods. What woods carry in for TED x Seeds? Live performance showing the inherited techniques, and discovering the spirit of their techniques. About TEDx, x = independently organized event

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
