A Very ‘Non-Violent’ Day at Jantar Mantar ft. Sonal | Jist

Sonal Pateria from Jist brings you a ground report from the national capital on Gandhi Jayanti. Watch as police and protesters face off near Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Hundreds of protesters, including student activists and political leaders, gathered to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Delhi Police sealed the area with heavy barricades, denied permission for the assembly, and detained hundreds to prevent them from reaching Jantar Mantar. Why did the police stop the protesters on Gandhi Jayanti? What did the public and those on the ground have to say about the high-security measures, detentions, and the situation in central Delhi? Sonal covers the complete scene — the face-off, the reasons behind the police action, and the voices of the people.
