MERSEY MORRIS DANCERS 2026

This video captures glimpses of the Mersey Morris Dancers when they visited The Wheatsheaf Inn in Raby, a small hamlet in Cheshire. This opportunity came about purely by chance since we had arrived in Raby a few hours earlier having driven up from the South coast. A poster in the pub indicated that there would be Morris Dancing at 8.00pm so we were curious, not having seen any Morris Dancing since 1976 in Hampshire. This video captures the essence of Morris Dancing with a 'mesmerising' final 'dance', fascinating by its complexity. This was the only time when the Mersey Morris Dancers visited The Wheatsheaf Inn in 2026 and the only time we had visited Raby for thirty years. An amazing coincidence.
