Invited into the Coupa Supplier Portal by a customer? Here’s how it actually works for suppliers: the one tab you need, what all eight Coupa invoice statuses mean, and exactly where to look when a payment is late. Pete Thomas, CTO of Kapwork, walks through a real supplier account in five minutes.
Is Coupa free for suppliers? The basics are free when a customer invites you. Everything past the basics is a paid upgrade, and you don’t need any of it to get paid.
What do Coupa invoice statuses mean? Draft: not sent yet. Pending Approval: your customer is reviewing it. Approved: accepted for payment. Processing: accounts payable has it and payment should follow. Disputed: your customer is challenging it. Abandoned: a dispute your customer gave up on. Voided: something is wrong and the invoice is dead until fixed. Invalid: needs fixing and resubmitting, usually on international invoices.
What should I do when a Coupa invoice is overdue? Pick the customer from the Select Customer dropdown, open the invoice, and scroll to the payment details at the bottom. If the status reads Approved or Processing but the payment section is empty past the due date, check your bank first; many customers never post payment data back to Coupa. Questions go to your customer through the comments box on the invoice, not to Coupa support, which only handles login and portal problems.

Get paid sooner on the invoices your customers already approved. Kapwork certifies invoices inside your customer’s own portal (Coupa, Ariba and 4,000+ others), so funders compete for them. Certified invoices get up to 90% advanced, versus a conservative 75%. Two minutes to certify, no commitment, and Kapwork adds 0% to any offer; the funders pay us.
