🎣 Welcome to Beyond The Bend Fishing™ This week on Beyond the Bend, four generations come together on Assateague Island for a week of surf fishing, seafood boils, and stories that stretch across decades. After a long week on the beach, we fired up a massive seafood boil — shrimp, mussels, crab, corn, the works — before sneaking back down to the water at dusk to chase the evening bite. Wade and I hit the troughs, sandbars, and dirty water pockets where flounder, kingfish, dogfish, and skate were feeding. From jigging teasers to bunker chunks on the big rod, we caught a mix of everything — and a few surprises, including someone’s underwear. As the sun dropped behind the dunes, the ocean settled into that perfect Assateague rhythm. We pulled fish on squid, fish bites, rubber, and bunker, ending the night with double headers and flounder. But the real catch was the time together — four generations on the sand, sharing stories, laughter, and a meal that tasted like summer.
