Gwerinwyr Gwent dance "Rhos Fach" at Upton upon Severn Folk Festival 2026

From Gwerinwyr Gwent web page. We perform a variety of traditional Welsh dances from different parts of Wales and from different centuries. Some of our dances are slow and courtly in style, but most are lively. We are often seen dancing outdoors during spring and summer. We are available for bookings where we offer displays, including audience participation. Our costumes are made from traditional Welsh flannel in a variety of colours and patterns. On occasions, our ladies wear the tall Welsh hat and for a particular dance, Llanover Reel. We thus commemorate Lady Llanover (1802-1896), who strived to promote the Welsh culture, language and costume in an area which had seen a decline in these traditions. Upton Folk Festival takes place in the town of Upton upon Severn, Worcestershire, annually, the first May Bank Holiday Weekend. The festival features a full programme of concerts, song and music sessions, ceilidhs and workshops as well as a procession through the town at midday on Sunday, and Morris and other dance displays throughout the weekend.
