In this 47-minute restoration video, I bring back to life a century-old sewing machine made in Dresden, Germany — the "Clemens Müller Dresden" with a unique trademark featuring a half-gear, a winged lion, three stars, a crown, and wheat ears. This machine was sent to me by a viewer, whose grandmother brought it back from Southeast Asia. It was covered in rust, missing much of its paint, and the wooden case was damaged — but all major parts were there. I fully disassembled it, noting the W929 number on many parts (likely the factory serial number). After ultrasonic cleaning and sandblasting, I repainted the black parts in gloss black. Most chrome-plated pieces were badly rusted, so I sandblasted and polished them, then re-plated them with nickel. The broken wooden base was carefully glued back together. The final assembly and adjustment were challenging, but in the end, every function works perfectly — restored to like-new condition inside and out. This was an unforgettable project: taking a sewing machine that belonged in a museum and making it fully usable again. Enjoy the full 47-minute restoration journey.
