10 Rarest Gemstones That 99% of People Don’t Know About

The 10 rarest gemstones in the world ranked not by price but by how much of them actually exists. From tanzanite's single 2.5 by 1.25 mile patch near Kilimanjaro to color-change alexandrite, Utah's ruby violet red beryl at 1 in 150,000 diamonds, benitoite, grandidierite, painite and the single 1.61-carat orange kyawthuite from Mogok, Myanmar, the film measures scarcity by geography, size and crystal counts and shows why mall diamonds fail every rarity test.
