Vocal Warm-Up: 5-4-3-2-1 Scale, 1-3-1 Slide & Sustained Vowels (Bb1–Eb4) Three-part warm-up to prep the voice for a full session — motor patterning, pitch flexibility, and vowel consistency, in that order. 0:00 – 5-4-3-2-1 Descending Scale A stepwise descending pattern that reinforces consistent laryngeal positioning across a moving pitch target. Builds the motor pattern for smooth register transitions before asking the voice to do anything harder. 2:25 – 1-3-1 Slide A slide through the interval trains agility and cord closure without the abrupt onset of a leap — the voice has to track pitch continuously rather than jump and land. 4:04 – Sustained Pitch, 5 Italian Vowels One pitch held through [a, e, i, o, u] to isolate vowel shape from pitch change. If tone quality shifts between vowels, that's tongue/jaw interference, not a "bad" vowel — this exercise exposes it. Range: Bb1–Eb4 No breathy onsets, no pushing for volume — priority is consistent airflow and clean onset across the full pattern. #vocalcoach #voiceteacher #singer #opera #musicaltheatre #operasinger #learntosing #voicelessons 🎶 If you enjoyed this video, book a voice coaching with me today at www.claireconnelly.com Happy singing! 🎶 TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@claireconnell...
