Video contains some flashing images!
I need to make animations for my YouTube videos, but I don't know how to use After Effects or any other pro tool. I set myself the challenge of writing my own motion graphics software... in one day.

Post-production notes:
Apologies for the sound inconsistency - my mic's noise reduction was doing funny things and I'm too much of a noob to know how to fix it, but I promise I'll get better for next time.
Also, I made a mistake when referring to dots per second (DPS) in the animation - I meant dots per frame. At 30Hz, the numbers are quite clearly wrong if the two units are mixed up!
Credits:
The images that I didn't create myself are all open source, mostly wikimedia commons.
Sound effects and music are licenced from Epidemic Sounds.
The 'More Dots' animation is by Deluthor - you absolute hero!
