Every gravel bar has them. Lumpy, brown, unremarkable, the exact shape and colour of the thousand rocks around them. Nobody stops. And a certain few of those lumps are hollow, lined with crystal, and worth more than everything else in your bucket put together.
In this one I go through the ugly rocks worth carrying home and opening: what the crust looks like on each one, the ground and the states they turn up in, how to tell a hollow lump from a solid one before you commit, what's realistically inside each type, and the ones that look exactly the same and are solid rock all the way through.
Ugly is the whole point. If it looked valuable it would already be gone.
