It launched in 1972, and by the end of its run in 1979, they had sold just short of one million examples. How do you follow a banger like that? Well, Honda decided the only place to go was up-market.  Enter the first-generation Honda Prelude. It wasn't blessed with movie-star good looks or muscle-car horsepower, but it did set the precedent for offering cutting-edge technology and high-end features at an affordable price, something almost all Preludes have done.
