In the final episode of our series on quantum reality, Jim Al-Khalili explores the experimental evidence behind some of quantum mechanics' strangest implications. We look at Bell's theorem and the experiments that confirmed that the universe appears to be fundamentally non-local.
What does this mean for the leading interpretations of quantum mechanics? If one of these interpretations is correct, what would the consequences be? Jim explores the implications for causality, Einstein’s general relativity, ‘superluminal’ faster-than-light communication, quantum technology, the search for extraterrestrial intelligence and the possibility that other versions of ourselves could exist in parallel universes.
