Not every battle is won with more tanks.
On *On the Edge**, I faced **two coordinated enemy teams* while defending an entire sector of the map alone.
The terrain itself shaped the battle. Narrow roads through desert towns, jungle approaches, and ridge-lined choke points made every advance vulnerable to ambush.
My first plan was simple: dominate the skies.
But the enemy had built a devastating air-defense network with **Bofors AA guns, M16 GMC anti-aircraft vehicles, heavy 90 mm AA batteries, and strong fighter cover**. A direct air assault would have been a disaster.
So I changed the strategy.
American armored units attacked first, forcing enemy tanks into battle and drawing attention away from their air defenses.
At the same time, *P-47 Thunderbolts* and *P-51 Mustangs* kept the anti-aircraft network occupied.
While the defenders focused on the chaos, *B-17 Flying Fortresses* slipped through and leveled key enemy bases.
Whenever an opportunity appeared, American *paratroopers* dropped behind enemy lines to capture vital structures and expand the offensive.
This wasn't a victory through overwhelming force—it was a victory through deception, timing, and combined-arms strategy.
