After running afoul of a mysterious robot that copied Sonic's every move, the the team successfully escaped the fortress with Mecha Sally in tow, heading back to New Mobotropolis. Determined to not let them escape, Eggman dispatched the copy robot and Metal Sonic to chase them down.
