Drug Dithers (2022)

"DITHER" DEFINITION: The word "dither" has three primary definitions spanning behavior, technology, and mechanics: • Indecision (Verb/Noun): To waver, hesitate, or delay making a choice; or a state of nervous, flustered agitation (e.g., "in a dither"). • Digital Processing (Verb/Noun): The intentional addition of randomized noise to a digital signal (audio or graphics). This smooths out harsh distortion or blends pixel patterns to simulate missing colors/gradients when converting data to a lower resolution. • Mechanical Engineering (Verb/Noun): The application of a rapid, low-amplitude vibration to a component (like a valve) to prevent sticking and ensure smooth movement. Origin: Derived from the 14th-century English word didderen, meaning "to tremble." Do I remember making this...? This album is one piece to play in track order. Released November 17, 2022 All recordings and synths by Jordan, NO AI. Cover illustration by Jordan also.
