This episode is a little different. Instead of heading out for a couple of hours of Streetwalkin’, this one feels like an evening of life on Broadway.
We leave home, step into downtown Nashville, wander through Dolly Day celebrations, come back for sunset views, head out again for nighttime festivities, and finish downstairs with pizza.
Recorded September 25, 2026, the day starts just before 5:00 p.m. when I turn on the camera and almost immediately run into Donald Trump. Well...a Donald Trump impersonator. Because apparently that’s just something that happens when you live on Broadway.
From there we hit the Friday afternoon crowds and get into the middle of Lower Broadway just in time for 5:00 p.m., when venues across downtown play Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5” together for Dolly Day.
Then we start exploring.
We head toward the river to see the Dolly installation at the end of Broadway, check out the Dolly mural at Acme and the pink crosswalk at 1st Avenue, then work our way back to Artville at Walk of Fame Park, including a trip inside one of the installations. Naturally, we also stop by Dolly Parton’s star on the Music City Walk of Fame.
From there we pass Bridgestone Arena, where Lil Wayne is performing that night, before heading into Fifth + Broadway and Assembly Food Hall to find another Dolly mural and the Dolly-themed bar.
Then it’s up Commerce Street to The Pinnacle, where we step inside Silver Sands Marina and get a look at Kenny Chesney’s album release party.
And that’s only the first trip outside.
Later, we head to the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge for sunset, then walk back as Nashville changes from daytime into nighttime. By the time we return to Fifth + Broadway, Lower Broadway is getting ready to close to traffic and the Friday-night crowds are taking over.
Then it’s back out again.
We make it to Broadway in time for the Dolly Day flash mob line dance at Bootleggers, followed by Dolly fireworks, before settling into a more traditional Streetwalkin’ pattern through the nighttime crowds. Eventually, after spending most of the day wandering downtown, we finish exactly where living on Broadway allows us to finish: Prince Street Pizza downstairs.
One day. Several trips outside. Dolly Day, Artville, Kenny Chesney, sunset, fireworks, Broadway at night, and pizza at the end.
