Three hours north of Shanghai, a factory is pressing brand-new steel bodies for the cars you grew up with — the first-generation Ford Bronco, the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40, the classic Land Rover Defender, the Datsun 240Z, the Toyota AE86 and the 1967 Ford Mustang. Not restored. Built new. Now Jiangsu Juncheng has turned to Germany. Parts for the Porsche 911 of the 964 generation are already in its catalogue, the complete 964 body shell is named as the next big step, and the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing is on its list of future projects.
