Get Your Bike Race Day Ready With Sabino Cycles - Three Pronged Bike Inspection Protocol

On this episode we welcome you into the shop to walk through a pre race bike check. Today we are going through Jon's Salsa Flyway to make sure it's ready for a 100 mile gravel race. We focus on three core principles: 1. Safety 2. Getting to the finish line 3. Performance We make sure all the bolts are torqued and that tires are free of damage. After a quick inspection to determine axles are tight and all important hardware is torqued we give the breaks a squeeze and double check that everything is working properly there. Getting to the finish line is the next most important thing and for this we want to check things like our tire sealant, our flat repair kit, and to make sure our shifter and derailleur batteries are properly charged up. Once we know the bike is safe and we can get to the finish line we'll dive into performance and get the bike dialed in so that it performs flawlessly on the day of the event. We hope this helps!
