VOIDFIRE — Not Your Grave | THE COST OF CHOOSING (Official Animated Lyric Video)

“Not Your Grave” — an original dark cinematic alternative guilt ballad by VOIDFIRE. *“Not Your Grave” was written from Murong Yao’s point of view in *Fated Hearts*.* This song is about envy, guilt, brotherhood, and the kind of regret that arrives too late. Murong Yao never truly hated Feng Suige as a person. He hated the world that seemed to open more easily for him. He hated the height Feng Suige stood at, the name people measured others against, and the pain of feeling smaller beside someone he once cared for. But resentment needs somewhere to go. So he gave his wound a face. Feng Suige’s. This song is not about wanting his friend dead. It is about wanting his place, wanting his own life to matter, wanting the world to owe him something too and realizing too late that none of it was worth the grave left behind. A dark melancholic male vocal song about buried resentment, broken friendship, guilt, mercy, and the devastating truth that he wanted Feng Suige’s place… But never his grave.
