STUDY HALL 005 - MIKE GIANT

Study Hall takes you inside the world of Mike Giant, the Albuquerque-raised, Dayton-based artist whose work moves between graffiti, tattooing, skateboard graphics, illustration, and streetwear. For Episode Five, we head to Dayton, Ohio, to meet the artist behind this year’s MGK Day poster. We dig through an antique mall for things he can turn into art. Then, in his studio, he works on a mirror, a globe, an old family photo, and more, and we sit in on the open art night he hosts on Wednesdays. From there we follow him to Cleveland for MGK Day. At our Study Hall pop-up he paints a custom Harley-Davidson helmet and hands it to MGK in the green room. Along the way, we explore the story behind his rise... This is not just about the finished piece. It's about the part before that. About Study Hall: Study Hall is a documentary series about artists, process, and the rooms where ideas become real. We follow creative people before the final product exists — inside studios, backstage, on the street, and anywhere work is being made. From painting and fashion to music, design, internet culture, and the strange details in between, Study Hall is about staying curious, asking better questions, and remembering that everyone is always a student.
