Iver Sandøy (Enslaved) on Mið | Trendcrusher

#podcast #enslaved #metal In this episode, Peter ‘Trendcrusher’ K speaks with Iver Sandøy of Norwegian metal band Enslaved about their 17th album, Mið. Iver reflects on the album as a new beginning for the band, and explains how collaboration with Blackfoot elder Kevin Kicking Woman helped inspire “Spirit of the Land” and opened the door to weaving Sami joik and Old Norse traditions into the music. Ivar discusses the album’s unusual writing process. He shares how embracing that pressure led to more intuitive performances, preserved the music’s rough edges, and kept its human energy intact.
