MAKE US HUMAN AGAIN
A humanitarian musical message about compassion, conscience, healing, mercy and the urgent need to restore humanity in medicine and society.
“Make Us Human Again” is based on the original poem by Dr. Muhammad Tajammul Hussain.
The song reflects on a world in which material progress, wealth, technology and ambition have increased — while human connection, mercy and peace of mind can sometimes diminish.
At the centre of this composition is a deeply personal question:
What happens when we gain more,
but become less human?
The song speaks especially to doctors and healthcare professionals.
Medicine is built on knowledge, science, skill and innovation.
But healing also depends on compassion.
A patient is not simply a diagnosis.
A patient is not simply a procedure.
A patient is not simply a source of income.
Behind every patient is a human being carrying fear, hope, pain, family and dignity.
The purpose of this song is not to condemn the medical profession.
It is to awaken the healer within.
It is a call to remember why medicine exists.

THE MUSICAL CONCEPT
“Make Us Human Again” is composed as an emotionally evolving world-fusion song with cinematic orchestration, Indian melodic colours, restrained Sufi emotion and intimate acoustic textures.
The emotional arc is:
reflection → discomfort → questioning → moral awakening → prayer → compassion → healing → hope.

ORIGINAL POEM
MAKE US HUMAN AGAIN
Tired of a selfish, hollow world,
I wonder — am I blessed or burdened,
that God placed in my heart a love so vast,
for every soul, every life that breathes?
All I wish — a world of peace,
a home where hearts live like one family,
where smiles replace swords,
and compassion reigns over cruelty.
I fight my own desires each day,
seeking only His gentle gaze.
For He — the Most Merciful,
has given beyond measure,
forgiven beyond reason,
and still sends mercy in every season.
Yet we — blind and ungrateful —
hoard the gifts that were never ours.
Our bellies small, but our greed immense,
our closets overflow,
our hearts run empty.
We sleep in one room, yet crave for ten.
Our garages full, our souls in debt.
The world spins in madness,
while our humanity forgets its name.
A healer becomes a thief of hope,
a surgeon cuts not for life, but gain.
We drown in pills,
our nights without peace,
our hearts without light.
O humanity — where are you going?
Towards the abyss of injustice,
into the shadowed valleys of greed.
O Allah!
Save us from this blindness,
from this darkness we have called progress.
Strip away the arrogance,
and clothe us once more
in the garment of mercy.
Make us Human Again —
hearts tender with love,
eyes that weep for others’ pain,
hands that heal, not harm.
Make us Human Again —
souls that see truth beyond gold,
that find wealth in kindness,
and peace in Your remembrance.

A MESSAGE TO THE MEDICAL FRATERNITY
Medicine has achieved extraordinary progress.
We have advanced diagnostics.
We have sophisticated surgery.
We have powerful medicines.
We have artificial intelligence.
We have precision treatment.
We have technology capable of extending and improving life.
But scientific advancement should never make the human relationship between doctor and patient less important.
The patient sitting before a physician may be frightened.
The family waiting outside may be carrying uncertainty.
A few minutes of listening,
a compassionate explanation,
a reassuring hand,
and a respectful conversation
can sometimes become part of healing itself.
This song asks every healer to remember:
The hands trained to treat disease
can also carry compassion.
The mind trained in science
can still listen to suffering.
The profession built to save life
must never lose its human heart.
“Make Us Human Again” is a reminder that humanity is not opposed to progress.
Humanity is what gives progress meaning.
