One of Bulgaria’s Most Scenic Mountain Drives 🇧🇬 | Narechen to the Wonderful Bridges

Join a scenic mountain drive from Narechen into the heart of Bulgaria’s Rhodope Mountains, ending at one of the country’s most remarkable natural landmarks — the Wonderful Bridges. This route gradually leaves the main valley behind and climbs deeper into the mountains, with rocky cliffs on one side, forested slopes and open mountain views on the other, and plenty of winding sections along the way. The final approach to the Wonderful Bridges follows a narrow asphalt mountain road with numerous bends, surrounded by dense Rhodope forest and steep terrain. The destination itself sits at around 1,450 m above sea level, near the foot of Golyam Persenk (2,091 m). The Wonderful Bridges — Chudnite Mostove — are huge natural marble arches formed from the remains of an ancient cave shaped by water and erosion. The largest bridge is about 96 m long and 70 m high, with its main arch rising roughly 45 m above the river.
