When The Line Runs Out

I often get asked where my inspiration comes from when I write a song. Honestly, it can come from everyday life, sometimes from a longing in my heart and soul, but most of the time, it comes through the work of the Holy Spirit. He puts the words in my soul, and eventually they become a song. And sometimes… it comes from something someone says or refers to. My pastor often uses Mr. La Linea as an example when talking about trust and faith. Mr. La Linea walks along the line, and when the line suddenly ends, he has to trust that the way forward will be drawn. That really spoke to me. Sometimes we pray, we receive by faith, we thank the Lord, we testify—and then we have to align our lives with what we have believed and received. We keep walking, even when we can't yet see the next line. And that is where this song was born. When the line runs out… look up.
