My Little Pony: The Princess of Friendship (Twilight Sparkle’s Journey)

This was a writing exercise for me where I was trying to include as many characters from MLP G4 as possible and make a coherent song. Lyrics [Verse 1] (Soft piano and light strings) On my first day away from Canterlot, I met a pony named Pinkie Pie She was full of laughter, fun, and light—the apple of every eye Then I met Applejack, so honest and true She introduced me to her family and the work they had to do There was Granny Smith with stories that never seemed to end And Big Mac, the silent type, a quiet kind of friend Who said more without a word than most will say in years And Apple Bloom, who chased her mark and conquered all her fears. [Chorus] And with every heart I’ve known, I’ve found a way to grow From the library in a tree to the magic that we show It isn’t just a lesson, it isn’t just a test It’s the love of every creature that has made me truly blessed I am Twilight Sparkle, and I’m finding my own way In the light of every friendship that we’ve built along the way. [Verse 2] I met Scootaloo who always wanted to fly and while she never did physically fly, she did in other ways. And Sweetie Belle who found her song and sang it with her might Rarity, whose fashion hid a heart of generosity And Rainbow Dash, a Wonderbolt, so loyal and so bold Then there was Fluttershy the kindest pony soft and shy Teaching birds a brand-new song beneath the open sky I met the Mayor, full of joy, and Derpy with her smile Lyra who played her music, Bon Bon who was so sweet, Doctor Hooves who was interested in time Octavia and Vinyl kept the rhythm in the street A melody of harmony in every pony I’d meet. Then Trixie who taught me that everypony can become a friend, then Moondancer who showed me what I could have been, With Gilda and with Gabby, showing griffons find a way, And Zecora who showed me not to judge any book by it's cover [Verse 3] The years went by and others came, like Luna from the night And Sunset Shimmer, reaching out to find a better light, The Human Five who taught me magic isn't all we need For a friendship that is true and has the power to succeed, Discord found a single friend, and Starlight found her place And Autumn Blaze found her voice again among her fellow Kirin I met my idol, Starswirl, and we learned what friendship meant, The rest of the pillars showed us that the elements always did exist. While Luster Dawn discovered what friendship truly meant, I saw the weight my mentor, Celestia, had to bear Then Cadence, who knows love is something every pony should share. And Shining Armor is my Big Brother Best Friend Forever, Twilight Velvet and Night Light who gave me my very life, A world of family standing strong through every joy and strife. [Verse 4] I can’t forget my Spike—my son, my heart, my soul Or the Student Six who showed us all that friendship is the goal of all creatures great and small, Thorax showed us that even a changeling can change, Tempest Shadow learned that we are more than just our power Even if some hearts won't bloom in the final hour Like Chrysalis and Cozy, or Tirek in his cage Not every pony changes when you turn a brand-new page. [Chorus] But for the thousands I have met, and the thousands yet to be I am the Princess of Friendship, and the magic lives in me!
