In Loving Memory of Peggy Ann Chapman April 11, 1962 – August 22, 2021 “Let Us Butt Heads in Heaven” is a deeply personal tribute to my beautiful wife, Peggy Ann Chapman—the woman I was blessed to love and call my wife for eighteen unforgettable years. Peggy was more than my wife. She was my best friend, my home, and one of the greatest gifts God ever bestowed upon a man. We shared laughter, tears, good times, difficult days, and even those little moments when we would butt heads. I would give anything to experience every one of those moments with her again. One of the hardest things I have ever done was serve as a pallbearer and help carry the woman I loved to her final resting place. My hands helped carry her that day, but my heart has carried the pain of losing her ever since. People saw Terry Allred walking beside her casket, but inside was a brokenhearted husband saying goodbye to eighteen years of love. Peggy was also a wonderful mother and the most loving grandma her beautiful grandchildren could have ever known. Crystall, Shawona, her grandchildren, family, friends, and everyone whose life she touched will always carry a piece of her love in their hearts. Her beautiful smile, caring spirit, and precious memories will never be forgotten. This song is my prayer to God and my promise to Peggy: although death separated us here on Earth, true love does not end at the grave. I pray that when my journey is finished, she will be waiting for me on the other side—ready to smile, take my hand, and maybe even butt heads with me again in Heaven. Peggy Ann, eighteen years was not nearly long enough. A lifetime would not have been enough with you.
