This video will share Days 3 and 4 of the 2026 Epic Ride through Ohio, Indiana and into Illinois. End of Day 4 is in Matteson, IL which puts me about 30 miles outside Chicago. Day 5 will begin here. Stick around, this is the beginning of the RT66 ride. Hopefully you enjoyed seeing the farming, history and famous citizens across this section of the USA. Putting this video together has helped me to understand that my route planning needs to incorporate these items from the planning stage, not just RT66 and the PCH. Many of the items presented in this video were new for me and I hope to help you appreciate this section of the country as I do now. Famous ballplayers, future president, astronauts, jazz musicians and recording, historical sites, one of the largest land-based wind turbine farms, first Honda factories in Marysville, OH and the towns that grew up along these early highways. I opted to take these secondary roads to see the USA up close and personal. I was not disappointed. As stated, these agricultural farming communities are feeding millions and you really do get a sense of the vastness that enables that.
