The Zoo is home to more than 1,000 animals representing more than 200 species from around the world. Zoo Atlanta is one of only three zoos in the U.S. housing giant pandas and is home to one of North America’s largest zoological populations of great apes. The giant panda exhibit is as good a place as any, especially since panda twins Xi Lun and Ya Lun–the only twin pandas in the United States–were born at Zoo Atlanta Sept. 3, 2016. And with the opening of the award-winning Scaly Slimy Spectacular Now open: the all-new African Savanna, with new and expanded habitats for African elephants, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, meerkats and more. The Zoo is open daily with the exceptions of Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Me and my family had so much fun we definitely enjoyed every second spent with all the animals.
