Lemarti - Nking'asia 2 (Official Video)

When those entrusted with protecting lives become the very people destroying livelihoods, who do the people turn to? Nkingasia 2 is more than a song. It is a cry of pain, a question of accountability, and a reflection of the suffering experienced by communities in Samburu following the recent shooting and killing of livestock. Through this song, Lemarti questions the very institutions entrusted with protecting communities and their livelihoods. How can the people feel safe when those expected to provide security are accused of becoming a source of fear and destruction? For pastoralist communities, livestock is more than wealth. It is food, identity, dignity, heritage and survival. Every animal lost represents a family affected and a livelihood threatened. With Nkingasia 2, Lemarti gives voice to the pain, frustration and unanswered questions of the people. It is a call for accountability, justice, humanity and the protection of innocent lives and livelihoods. Our livelihoods matter. Our lives matter. Our voices must be heard.
