LoL Worlds 2026: Cloud9 Out First on Riot's Own Campus

In September, Blaber said he was emotional after Cloud9 made it back to Worlds. Less than a month later, Cloud9 were the first team out of Worlds 2026, eliminated in a 300-seat studio on Riot's own Los Angeles campus. In the same Play-In, Karmine Corp won their first ever Worlds series and opened the post-match interview with an apology. This is the story of the first two days of the Worlds 2026 Play-In. It covers the 20-1 opening game, the Reddit thread that flipped overnight, Caliste's apology, and FURIA's fourth straight series win over Cloud9. It also covers why the Play-In moved back to a room Riot had once said was too small, and what is still open before Sunday. Recorded after Play-In Day 2. MVK Esports vs FURIA had not been played yet.
