For three years, I have been sharing stories about Burundi in English. Along the way, many people asked questions. Who is Alex Teller? Where does he come from? Why does he speak about Burundi this way? Before continuing with the Burundi I Know series, I felt it was important to pause and answer these questions honestly. In this video, I speak in Kirundi for the first time on this channel. Not because I am changing direction, but because some moments require clarity, respect, and truth. I share my origin, my roots in the countryside, my lineage, and why I chose English to tell Burundian stories to the world. This video also explains what The Set is, why Burundi I Know exists, and how this work is supported by people who believe in honest storytelling.
