Christ and His Church (Ephesians 1:20-23)

This week, Pastor Josh challenges believers to view the Church as Paul presents it at the end of Ephesians 1. First, we must view Jesus in His rightful place: as the resurrected, seated, and actively ruling King who holds absolute authority over every power, name, and spiritual force. Because Christ serves as the supreme head over all creation specifically for the good of His church, the local church serves as the primary way His heavenly reality invades the earth. Believers must lay down their casual, leftover commitment to the Church and step fully into their purpose as the living body of Christ—filled with His presence and completing His ongoing work in the world.
