I Knew Her Well (Italian: Io la conoscevo bene) is a 1965 Italian comedy-drama film directed by Antonio Pietrangeli and starring Stefania Sandrelli, Nino Manfredi, Ugo Tognazzi, Franco Fabrizi, Jean-Claude Brialy, Enrico Maria Salerno, Mario Adorf and Franco Nero. Adriana (Stefania Sandrelli) is a very young, beautiful woman of humble origins from the province of Pistoia who moves to Rome, where she tries to make her way in the entertainment world in various ways. Her quest, at times arduous and humiliating, will lead her to meet numerous personalities who, with varying degrees of success, are part of that seemingly glittering world. In 2008, the film was included on the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage's 100 Italian films to be saved, a list of 100 films that "have changed the collective memory of the country between 1942 and 1978."
