Honda Civic 2004 engine swap in Pakistan — from a 1.5L engine to a D17A2 1.7L VTEC, with a total cost of around PKR 200,000. Welcome to Episode 2 of Project KC-313! 🚗🔧 In this video, you’ll see how much the engine swap cost, the installation process, what problems appeared afterwards, and where the Civic rebuild stands now. We visited Bilal Ganj, Lahore, compared used engines and prices, inspected several options, and discussed warranty terms before buying. But after installation, an overheating and head gasket problem meant taking the car back to the market and bringing the mechanic and seller together to resolve it. 🔧 In this episode: • The expense breakdown of the roughly PKR 200,000 engine swap • Choosing and installing a D17A2 1.7L VTEC engine • Engine inspection and warranty discussions • Problems after installation and how they were addressed • The Civic’s current condition and what work comes next 💰 My engine swap expenses: • Engine purchase: approximately PKR 170,000 • Total with labour and additional expenses: around PKR 200,000 • Wiring work: still pending and excluded from this total These costs reflect my personal experience, rather than a fixed market price. Project KC-313 follows the restoration of my Honda Civic 2004, including the progress, setbacks, expenses, and lessons along the way. 💬 Have you swapped an engine in your Civic?
