Join me on a one-day journey through Iași, one of Romania’s most historic and culturally rich cities. From the first views at the airport, we explore the city’s beautiful streets, historic landmarks, churches, parks, and university district. Once the capital of the Principality of Moldavia, Iași played an important role in Romanian history. It was also the temporary capital of Romania during World War I. The city is especially known for its cultural and academic heritage, including Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, Romania’s first modern university, founded in 1860. What makes Iași stand out is the way its history and everyday city life come together: grand architecture, centuries-old religious sites, literary connections, and a lively student atmosphere. Along the way, we visit Râpa Galbenă, Piața Unirii, Lăpușneanu Street, the Union Museum, the National Theatre, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Catholic Cathedral, the Three Hierarchs Monastery, and the exterior of the Palace of Culture.
