Arabi Pallavi || Odissi dance || Aratrika Dance Group || Annual Programme 2026

Pallavi, derived from the Sanskrit word Pallava, meaning “to sprout” or “to blossom,” is one of the most beautiful forms of pure dance in Odissi. Like a flower gradually unfolding, a Pallavi begins with graceful and measured movements and progressively blossoms into intricate combinations of rhythm, melody, footwork, torso movements, and sculptural poses. It is a journey where the dancer responds to the melody and rhythm, gradually building complexity while maintaining the characteristic grace and lyrical quality of Odissi. On the auspicious occasion of our 21st annual function, we, Aratrika dance group, presented Arabi Pallavi, set to the melody of Raaga Arabi. Credits : Music Composition : Pt.
