Oil, Occupation & Extractivism - Why SA must repeal offshore oil&gas rights granted to Navitas

On 22 September 2026, it was announced that South Africa has granted oil and operatorship rights to Israeli company, Navitas Petroleum, for Block 1 CBK, a strategic offshore oil and gas block on South Africa’s west coast, along its maritime border with Namibia. This is in contradiction to international legal obligations on human rights and environment. This webinar outlines our interconnected struggles for environmental justice and against extractivist imperialist interests, and provide an opportunity to share information on the BDS campaign for an energy embargo against genocidal Israel – including stopping South African coal sales – and especially rejecting Navitas Petroleum!
