2026 Mahalaya Promo Video

In just a few weeks, we will come together to celebrate Mahalaya—a sacred and much-awaited moment when Pitri Paksha gives way to Devi Paksha, heralding Maa Durga’s annual journey to earth. The timeless early-morning invocation of Chandi Path and Mahishasuramardini will be brought to life by an ensemble of talented performers from Dakshini and BASC, under the able direction of Surajit Basu. Dakshini members will be featured in the traditional Mahishasuramardini presentation, lending their talents through vocal, harmonium, and sitar performances. Together, the music, recitation, and dance promise to evoke the unmistakable spirit of Mahalaya—awakening memories, emotions, and the joy of welcoming Maa Durga once again.
