Why do so many students feel unheard in Indian schools and colleges?
In this video, I'm talking about a pattern I've noticed in educational environments: when a disagreement happens between a teacher and a student, the student's perspective can sometimes be dismissed before it's genuinely heard.
Respecting teachers is important, but students deserve respect, too. Having a different opinion doesn't automatically make a student disrespectful. Every disagreement should be an opportunity for understanding, not a situation where one person is expected to stay silent simply because the other has authority.
When students repeatedly feel that their opinions don't matter, they may eventually stop speaking up, expressing themselves, or asking questions.
This conversation is not about disrespecting every teacher. It's about questioning a culture where authority can sometimes matter more than understanding.
Students deserve to be heard. Respect should go both ways.
Share your experiences and opinions in the comments. Let's have a respectful conversation about how our schools and colleges can create healthier environments for students.
