Day three of the road trip and it's time to head north to Ontario's eastern shore. First stop is the 107 foot Salmon River Falls. This area feels remote, the weather remains damp and dreary leading to a wild scene and setting near the very impressive falls. After leaving the falls i head to Robert G Whele state park, a relatively obscure but impressive park on the shore of Lake Ontario. I set up the whole trip around the opportunity to spend two nights at a rustic cabin set on a bluff above the water. The cabin was all that i could have imagined, one of the nicest spots i have ever been to. I walked the Snakefoot trail along the water in the late afternoon - this trail has real Acadia vibes - and watched a glorious sunset from the cabin. I think this was my best day of the trip.
