Roadbound True Rain is a standalone rain, storm, wet-road, windshield, and rain-audio enhancement for ETS2. Please be advised that this is an experimental rain mod. It may not be perfect in its current state, but we are working hard to create an immersive and enjoyable experience for all players. This early experimental release is focused on testing rain physics, rain visuals, wet-road behavior, windshield droplets, and rain sound together. The goal is to make bad-weather driving feel heavier, clearer, and more atmospheric while still keeping the experience practical for normal gameplay. Feedback is welcome and strongly encouraged. Future updates and presets will be adjusted based on what players report. What this mod does Dynamic rain intensity - storm cells ramp from light drizzle to heavy and extreme rainfall instead of staying at one intensity. Windshield simulation - improved droplet density, distortion, adhesion, wiper response, and speed-based streaking on the cab glass. Road wetness - ETS2-tuned climate wetting/drying and storm rain profiles (Europe map projection); pavement stays wet longer after rain with slightly reduced wet-road grip. Truck interaction - base-game truck windshields receive tuned droplet sizing; glass physics respond more naturally at speed. Rain audio - cabin EQ tuning, windshield rain positioning, and exterior/world rain routing focused on rain-only ambience (no town/traffic clips mixed in). Development status Roadbound True Rain is currently in an early experimental public testing and tuning phase. At this time, only the ETS2 2K and ATS 2K versions are available for public testing and feedback. These 2K versions allow us to collect feedback about what feels good, what needs to change, and what should be improved. Lite 512MB, Performance, and 4K Ultra presets will be uploaded at a later time. Waiting to release the other presets allows us to apply feedback-driven improvements before they are uploaded. Our goal is to release the remaining ETS2 and ATS presets together with the latest fixes, improvements, and tuning already included. Player feedback will help determine what needs to be changed, improved, fixed, or kept for future versions. This preset: 2K This is the 2K preset: the recommended balanced option with a custom 2048 rain texture, higher windshield droplet density (32,000 drops per meter vs vanilla 5,000), and stronger storm visibility. The 2K preset is currently being used to test the overall rain experience before the remaining presets are finalized. Once enough useful feedback has been collected, the necessary changes will be applied across all presets before they are uploaded. Important: Enable only one Roadbound True Rain preset at a time. Recommended load order List order matches Mod Manager from top to bottom. Higher in the list = higher priority. If you use Roadbound True Night, put True Night above True Rain — not Rain first with True Night below it.
