Manticore vs CTX 3030 on a Field I’ve Done to Death

Everyone says the Minelab Manticore is the future of metal detecting… but what if the old CTX 3030 can still hold its ground? In this real-world field test, Shaun and I take both detectors out for a proper day’s digging — no test beds, no staged targets, just live signals in real conditions. The results might surprise you. I’ve noticed the Manticore shines in dry soil, but once the ground turns damp, the CTX seems to wake up, locking onto targets that the newer machine sometimes misses. Could it be that the CTX 3030 still has the edge in certain conditions?
