On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision, USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham and RJ Abeytia are in studio, joined remotely by Shotgun Spratling, talking about USC's massive 30-18 upset victory over No. 2 Ohio State on a rainy Halloween night in the Coliseum. It was a spooky week for head coach Lincoln Riley, who had to address questions about whether he was the right man to lead the Trojans, but he gave his critics pause following his squad's dominating performance against a Buckeyes team that was one of the betting favorites to win the national championship.
Our crew breaks down what they saw Saturday night, from the 69-yard catch and run by Trent Mosley on the second play of the game to the first field storming by Trojan fans in the Coliseum since the 2013 win over No. 4 Stanford. The offense was able to bounce back from its poor showing in Madison, running the ball effectively and utilizing its freshmen pass catchers in Mosley and tight end Mark Bowman. The defense was also exceptional, keeping OSU out of the end zone until 2:12 left in the game and getting the ball back for Jayden Maiava and the offense.
Following the game, Lincoln Riley was able to take his victory lap, talking about how they believed in the building that they had something special going despite the two losses. He also read from a prepared statement that our guys give their thoughts on. Next up, USC has another bye week before hitting the road to take on defending national champion Indiana. Three games left, two top-10 teams, and a clean sweep needed to make the College Football Playoff.
